As we approach the end of the month, the A&T Committee will meet to determine if further action is required, or if regular school functions will resume on March 30th.

The decision to close our school was extremely difficult, but it was made out of an abundance of caution and constant monitoring of this illness. While we understand that closing the school facility is inconvenient, we also believe strong, urgent action must be taken to prevent the spread of this disease and to protect our student’s health.

In our response to COVID-19, we must depend on the factual information from local, state, and federal agencies, as well elected officials, and make decisions that protect the health of students, staff and families in our community. In light of Governor Polis’ declaration of a state of emergency in Colorado, and the rapidly growing number of confirmed cases in Colorado, we must take swift action to protect public health.

During the closure, the school will be thoroughly sanitized and disinfected. We encourage the community to continue hand washing and follow other recommendations from the CDC about how to avoid the spread of illness.

Our goal is always to protect the safety, health and wellness of our students, members, staff, and families. Our strength as a community is our greatest asset. We can work together to protect each other and slow the progression of COVID-19.

We will continue to remain in contact with public health officials and keep you updated with new information as it becomes available. We thank you for your support and partnership in this effort.
